Complete your records: Read your completeness score, follow the biggest cause, and fix it at the source.

Key points

  • The score grades how well your records explain every coin you hold, across coverage, evidence and holdings.
  • Work through the causes from the top, because they are listed by how many points each one costs.
  • More coins leaving than ever arrived means part of your history is missing, often an older export not yet added.
  • Many exchanges cap how far back their API or export goes, so a report run blind can rest on missing history.

Is anything missing from your records? Data completeness tells you, and shows you where to fix it.

Open Data completeness. Coinfig scores how well your records explain every coin you hold. The score has a grade and three parts: coverage, evidence and holdings. The weakest part is in bold.

What is affecting your score lists the causes, biggest impact first, with the points each one costs. The biggest cause. More Bitcoin left than ever arrived, so part of your history is missing.

Add the older VALR file in Exchanges and wallets, and the earlier purchases are back in your records. Back on Data completeness, the score is checked again, and coverage is complete.

Next, deposits we cannot trace to a source. Coinfig does not know where these coins came from. View transactions opens the ledger, filtered to those deposits. They landed in MetaMask from a Luno account that is not connected yet. When a cause is a missing account, connect it. Add the Luno history in Exchanges and wallets. Back on Data completeness, the deposits now pair with their withdrawals, and nothing is holding your score back.
