Coinfig turns exchange, wallet and CSV history into clear, defensible tax figures for your HMRC return. Your tax report is free for up to 100 transactions, with a completeness check before you ever rely on the numbers.
See a sample reportCoinfig reads your history straight from the origin: direct exchange API connections and our own full archival blockchain nodes. Nothing is inferred from a third-party indexer, so the figures trace back to ground truth.
Direct, read-only API connections to the venues you actually use, local and global, plus a universal CSV importer for everything else.
On-chain wallet coverage from our own full archival nodes. Every historical balance and transfer is verifiable down to the block.
Most tools calculate. Coinfig also tells you whether the calculation is built on complete data. The Data Completeness Score grades your year from 0 to 100 and gates the report, so you never file on a guess.
What came in vs. what went out per asset, value-weighted so a R1 gap doesn't tank a clean year.
Deposits and withdrawals matched across your exchanges and wallets; anything unmatched is listed for you to fix.
The score gates your report, so you never file on a guess.
Missing sources, unmatched transfers and unexplained outflows flagged before they reach a report.
Link exchanges via read-only API, add wallet addresses, or upload a CSV. Read-only access is enforced throughout, so Coinfig can never trade or move funds.
Run completeness checks and surface every gap, orphaned transfer and unknown event before you pay. No surprises at report time.
Walk through classifications, assumptions, tax year and method. Every change is logged and auditable.
Download a professional report with transparent assumptions, supporting schedules and a full audit trail ready for your accountant.
This is a complete sample, generated from a synthetic account, the same report every plan gets, including Free. Open it below and choose your jurisdiction to preview the version you would receive.
Keys are scoped to read-only and encrypted at rest. Coinfig can never trade, withdraw or move assets on your behalf.
Missing sources, unmatched transfers and fee gaps flagged before they reach a report, so you file on complete data.
Consistent, transparent valuation with backfilled prices clearly marked for review. GBP cost shown across each Section 104 pool.
Jurisdiction-aware accounting methods with the full working shown behind every figure. No black boxes.
Hand-off packs with supporting detail so a registered practitioner can verify your numbers, not rebuild them from scratch.
A single, dated, defensible PDF plus capital-gains, income and transaction schedules in both PDF and CSV formats.
Every tier generates the full tax report and schedules. The paid tiers simply lift the data-volume caps, so you pay only for the history your tax report covers. Connect everything on any plan.

Coinfig turns your exchange and wallet history into clear capital gains figures for the UK tax year, which runs from 6 April to 5 April. It works out your proceeds, allowable cost and net gain on every disposal using HMRC Section 104 pooling.
You get downloadable, transaction-level schedules and workings that support the capital gains pages of your Self Assessment return. Coinfig is a calculation and reporting tool, not tax advice, and it does not imply any endorsement by HMRC.
HMRC requires each token to be held in a single pool, called a Section 104 holding, at its aggregate allowable cost. When you sell, the disposal takes a proportionate share of that pooled cost as its basis.
Coinfig builds a pool per asset across your wallets and exchanges, and shows the full working behind every disposal so you can trace how the pooled cost was calculated.
Before drawing on the pool, HMRC matches a disposal first against any acquisitions made on the same day, then against acquisitions made in the following 30 days. This is often called the bed and breakfasting rule.
Coinfig applies this matching order automatically, so same-day and 30-day acquisitions are paired with your disposals before the Section 104 pool is used.
For Capital Gains Tax the UK does not split gains by how long you held an asset. A disposal after ten years and a disposal after ten days are calculated the same way.
Your actual tax depends on your total gains for the year, your annual exempt amount and your rate band, which vary with your wider circumstances. Coinfig reports the gain, not your final liability.
Crypto received as income, for example from staking rewards, mining, airdrops or payment for work, is generally taxable at its market value on the day you receive it.
Coinfig records these as income events valued at the time of receipt, kept separate from the capital gains on any later disposal. For how a specific reward should be treated, check with a tax adviser.
Yes. When you connect an exchange through its API, Coinfig uses read-only access to import your transaction history. It cannot place trades or move funds.
If you prefer not to share an API key, you can also import your history by CSV from most exchanges.
No. Coinfig provides calculations and reports based on the data you import and the settings you choose. It does not provide personalised tax advice, and it does not imply any endorsement or approval by HMRC.
For complex situations, such as business trading, mining or unusual transactions, consult a qualified tax adviser. You remain responsible for what you file.
