Build an accurate history for each tax year first. A tax adviser can then advise on the right route for past years.
An exchange export on its own misses transfers between your own wallets. Coinfig finds those gaps for you.
Get your full history and figures together before you reply, so you can answer accurately.
Hand over one report with the schedules behind every number, so they can check it instead of rebuilding it.
Connect your exchanges and wallets and Coinfig pulls in your full history for you, with nothing to type in by hand. Your transactions are kept in sync. For wallets we read the blockchain directly, which picks up movements that exported statements often leave out.
For the technically minded: we run our own archive nodes for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Dogecoin and Cardano.
Direct, read-only API connections to the venues you actually use, local and global, plus a universal CSV importer for everything else.
Add a wallet address and we read its history from the blockchain itself, transaction by transaction. There is no file to export.
Coinfig checks whether anything is missing from your history and shows you what to fix. You get a data completeness score from 0 to 100, so you know how far to trust your figures before you pay.
We compare everything that came into your accounts with everything that went out, coin by coin. Small gaps count for little, so a €1 gap does not spoil a clean year.
When crypto arrives from a wallet or exchange you have not connected, we value it at the market price on the day, which is an estimate. Connect that account and we use the real figure. Your score is the lowest of the checks.
Link your exchanges, add your wallet addresses, or upload a file from an exchange we do not connect to yet.
Coinfig shows you what is missing from your history and how to fix it, before you pay.
Look over how your transactions were treated and change anything that is wrong. Every change is recorded.
Download your report with the figures for your return and the schedules behind them, ready for you or your accountant.

Everything you need to know about Coinfig and your crypto tax reporting.
Coinfig turns your exchange and wallet history into capital gains figures for the Irish tax year, which is the calendar year. It works out proceeds, cost and net gain on every disposal, using FIFO, first in first out, and shows them in euro.
You get downloadable, transaction-level schedules and workings that you can use when you complete your Form 11. Coinfig is a calculation and reporting tool, not tax advice, and it does not imply any endorsement by the Irish tax authority.
Coinfig uses FIFO, first in first out. The units you acquired earliest are treated as the first ones sold.
The full working is shown behind every disposal so you can trace which acquisitions were matched to each sale.
Ireland has a four-week rule. A sale is first matched with coins of the same kind you bought in the four weeks before it, and only then with older coins under FIFO. If you sell at a loss and buy the same coin back within four weeks, that loss can only be used against a gain when you later sell the coins you bought back. Coinfig applies both parts.
The working for each match is shown in your report so you can check it.
Most people who buy and hold are taxed on capital gains, and that is where Coinfig starts. If your crypto activity is a trade, your gains may instead be taxed as trading income.
You choose in your Preferences, and your report states the choice. If you are not sure, check with a tax adviser.
Crypto received as income, for example from staking rewards, mining or payment for work, can be taxable when you receive it, separately from any later gain on disposal.
Coinfig records these as income events, kept apart from your capital gains. Because the treatment depends on the facts, confirm your situation with a tax adviser.
Figures and reports are shown in euro. Every transaction is valued in euro at the rate on the day it happened, and any price we had to estimate is marked so you can check it.
Yes. When you connect an exchange through its API, Coinfig uses read-only access to import your transaction history. It cannot place trades or move funds.
If you prefer not to share an API key, you can also import your history by CSV from most exchanges.
No. Coinfig provides calculations and reports based on the data you import and the settings you choose. It does not provide personalised tax advice, and it does not imply any endorsement or approval by the Irish tax authority.
For complex situations, such as business trading, mining or unusual transactions, consult a qualified tax adviser. You remain responsible for what you file.
